Cellhire USA provides phones for 42nd World Archery Championships

Cellhire USA recently supplied over 100 wireless phones and 2-way radios at the largest World Championships ever in the sport of archery. Hundreds of archers from over 70 countries competed in the event, which took place at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY in July 2003.

The World Archery Championships is just one competition that NYC 2012 – the non-profit committee leading New York’s bid for the 2012 Olympic Games – is holding this summer. The International Archery Federation (FITA), USA Archery, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and the New York City Sports Commission (NYCSC) worked together in bringing this event to New York. The competition served as an Olympic qualifier and the winners will compete at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

Cellhire’s services made it easy for the Championships’ staff to communicate with each other while on site. Cellhire hopes to supply equipment for the other competitions taking place this summer such as the New York Water Polo FINA World League Super Final. Randi Heller, Business Development Manager of Cellhire USA said “Being able to support international competitions is a great opportunity for Cellhire. Cellhire anticipates that athletes will also be interested in phone and data rental services since their phone won’t operate in North America. Like international travelers, these athletes will be away from home and want to keep in touch with their families and friends while away. It is worthwhile to take a Cellhire phone since phone calls are much easier and less expensive than dealing with hotel and pay phones.”

Cellhire is dedicated to delivering high-quality, cost-effective and customer-focused solutions and is proud to support NYC 2012. Cellhire USA is excited at the prospect of providing wireless solutions for future athletic events including the finest of them all, the Olympic Games.
