International Mercy Missions Continue

Deseret International’s founder Dr. William E. Jackson and his son, Doug Jackson will soon be headed out on another multiple country mercy mission to provide medical assistance to third world countries. Dr. Jackson will be traveling to the Philippines, India, Pakistan and Indonesia and Doug Jackson will be helping residents in Chile, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Both will be providing such medical service as post-polio procedures, cataract surgery, dental needs and prescription glasses. They plan to stay in touch using international wireless service donated by Cellhire USA LLC.

“Within the past couple of years, we have begun to construct our own clinics to give more autonomy and flexibility to our local organizations. As we traveled around the world, we recognized the need to keep in constant communication. We just can’t “check out” for a week or two at a time. Decisions are being made even when we are out of town. We realized the value of discussing different options in real time – when we are in that particular country,” says Doug Jackson, Executive Director.

This is Deseret’s second trip using Cellhire’s international cell phone service. During their first trip, they were among the first to assist Pakistani villagers during the October 8, 2005 earthquake, which registered a minimum magnitude of 7.6 on the moment magnitude scale. Doug explained, “We are choosing Cellhire again because of their reliability. When William Jackson happened to be in Pakistan a couple of days after their big earthquake, for a number of villages, he was the first visitor from the outside. He stood in their streets and used Cellhire’s cell phone to get help and make plans for the villagers.”

Cellhire is very pleased to support Deseret International and the very important mission of this organization. We’ve chosen to help by ensuring effective wireless communications as these leaders further their work of improving the lives of people around the world.

New Japan 3G phone product launch

This month Cellhire added 3G phones for Japan to its extensive international fleet.

The 3G handsets bridge the compatibility divide between GSM networks, used in the UK, and the local technologies used in Japan. This allows Cellhire to offer its customers recognisable and easy to use handsets.

The new Japanese phone combines 3G technology with the renowned user friendly Nokia design, meaning although the travellers location is unfamiliar their mobile phone needn’t be.

As the world becomes smaller and companies expand globally, international travel is imperative to businesses, second only to communication. Often combining the two is both technical and costly. Cellhire, a mobile communications specialist, prides itself on its expertise in global communication solutions and its wealth of global solutions.

Cellhire offers local airtime in over 20 different countries. This allows the business traveller to retain contact with clients and colleagues without resorting to roaming and incurring massive costs. The company’s unique selling point is that with all of the destinations on offer the customer can keep their own mobile phone number through a unique number forwarding service. There is no need to let people know of a new contact number when travelling.

The usability, familiarity and cost savings Cellhire can offer take the hassle out of travel.
